Mental Problems and Teens
 Teenage is a time period between boyhood and youth. Teenage is a crucial time period of life when there are some changes occurred physically and mentally. These changes render the boyhood into maturity. During this time, there are appeared some common mental problems like- depression, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), ASD (autism spectrum disorder), various types of phobias, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder etc. Most of the times, these happen either for inner problems (improper taking food, sleep etc) or external problems (contrary environment of growing up).Â
At the stage of teen period, sometimes, depression surround teenagers when there are some symptoms like sadness, hopeless, little or no feelings for everything. Though the feelings don’t last long but they can affect bodily functions. It causes change in appetite, sleep, problems in concentrating. Depression is the outcome of being failure from something. It is the main reason of taking drugs. In the term of ADHD, it’s a disorder of behavior and affects on teen’s communication during the time of adolescence. In this disease teens are trying to hold attention to others by doing something without being aware of its consequences. The disease is grown up if the boy/girl gets negative feedback nearly the whole day from their parents, teachers because of their unusual activities. Â
Often it can be appeared that children cannot communicate in a meaningful way with others though they need to communicate or even they totally remain quite. This mental disease is defined as ASD. These teens react often quite worse and show intolerance of certain types of food, washing powders. ASD is four to five times more common in boys than girls. Various types of phobias are also noticeable in teen’s like- specific phobias, social phobia and agoraphobia. Specific phobias are the panic attack because of a specific object or situation such as flying, heights, spiders or snakes. Specific phobias tend to emerge from childhood. Social phobia or social anxiety disorder is being anxious, having over self consciousness, lack of confidence in social situation. The patient of social phobia is always thinking that people are observing him/her, judging him/her. That’s why he/she always feel embarrassed for his/her actions. Agoraphobia is one kind of disorder by which, teen patients are feeling insecure in public places. Some patients are also afraid of being alone. Next is schizophrenia, which leads teens to hallucination, contradictory thoughts and unusual behavior and speech. The symptoms are hearing voices, persecuted thoughts. It is believed that most of the times patient are the victims of violence than to commit violent acts. Because of it, teens feel isolated and unable to share their feelings with others. After that, bipolar disorder, this can be defined as sudden swing in teen’s mood, energy and function. Teens, having bipolar disorder, experience sorrow from various aspects of life. They feel sad, worthless, and guilty and have low energy level.Â
 When teens behave in an unusual way we should aware of their proper treatment otherwise it will increase by degrees.               Â
